Short version: our coffee loyalty card works the old way — ask for one at the counter. Each coffee earns a stamp, nine stamps fill the card, and the tenth cup is on the house. Nothing to download and no email address required.
Why paper
We thought about the app version for roughly four minutes. Then we imagined asking someone holding a dosa in one hand to download something, create a password and accept terms, and we stopped thinking about it.
A card in your wallet works the first time, every time, for everyone. It also means the transaction stays what it is: you came in ten times, so one of them is on us.
Who fills one fastest
An entirely unscientific ranking, based on watching the counter:

The small print, such as it is
- Ask at the counter — cards aren’t handed out automatically, mostly because not everyone wants one.
- One stamp per coffee, stamped when you order.
- Lose the card, lose the stamps. It’s paper. We can’t look you up.
- What counts on the day is whatever the person at the counter says counts. They’re more generous than any rule we’d write.
Why coffee and not food
Because coffee is the habit. Food is a decision you make when you’re hungry; a filter kaapi is a thing you do on the way past. The card is meant for people who pass by often, which is most of the road this cafe sits on.
